ABSTRACT

This paper discusses about the wireless networks, which enable multiple devices to connect without any physical connection. The evolution of a group of wireless network that is Wireless LAN which connects devices and network using an access point. The various factors of Wireless LAN are such as frequency and data rates, IEEE 802.11 architecture, components, range as well as its benefits. The security problems, enforce with the Wireless LAN as well as the risks and threats concerned with the security of Wireless LAN are explained.
